  • Salary range: $35,000-$80,000, Sweet spot: $50,000-$65,000
  • Major cities: $45,000-$80,000, Other markets: $35,000-$50,000
  • Hourly: $17-40/hour Sweet Spot: $20-30/hour
  • Bonus: Customary

A customer service representative is tasked with fielding customer questions, concerns, and complaints pertaining to a product and/or service. Typical duties include fielding phone calls and answering emails from customers and resolving any issues that may arise. They must possess a deep understanding of a company’s products and services and may also need to work closely with a larger customer service team to review new products, services, and company policies. A good customer service representative must be solution-oriented and able to address all customer concerns in a courteous and efficient manner.

Job Description

  • Administer to inbound and outbound phone calls and emails pertaining to customer satisfaction
  • Assess customer concerns and respond to them directly or reroute them accordingly
  • Troubleshoot issues with a product/service or create a query for further review by a specific department
  • Inform customers of additional product/service offerings that may provide a more optimal solution or added functionality
  • Identify the most effective way to solve a problem and address a customer’s question or concern
