Family office assistants work with extremely wealthy families, otherwise known as ultra-high net worth (UHNW), to manage both family and financial operations. Generally, true family offices are very private organizations. The purpose of a family office is to manage, preserve and increase the family’s wealth for both current and future generations, whilst also providing for the family’s day-to-day running costs. Often the role of the family office assistant is to tackle the traditional executive assistant duties of an extremely high functioning office but also to make sure that the family’s specific needs and requirements are cared for. In one day, a family office assistant might manage financial report coordination and distribution as well as secure specific meals and transportation for a private airplane flight. The highest degree of professionalism, task managing and discretion are required for this position.
