  • Salary range: $100,000-$170,000
  • Sweet spot: $120,000-$150,000
  • Bonus: Customary

Family office assistants work with extremely wealthy families, otherwise known as ultra-high net worth (UHNW), to manage both family and financial operations. Generally, true family offices are very private organizations. The purpose of a family office is to manage, preserve and increase the family’s wealth for both current and future generations, whilst also providing for the family’s day-to-day running costs. Often the role of the family office assistant is to tackle the traditional executive assistant duties of an extremely high functioning office but also to make sure that the family’s specific needs and requirements are cared for. In one day, a family office assistant might manage financial report coordination and distribution as well as secure specific meals and transportation for a private airplane flight. The highest degree of professionalism, task managing and discretion are required for this position.

Job Description

  • Provide administrative and other support to the family office operations, the family principals as well as to the wider family when necessary
  • Act as a gatekeeper to the principals, protecting their time, information and exposure
  • Prepare sophisticated agendas, documentation and minutes/records of meetings as required
  • Carry out extensive and ever-changing calendar management
  • Coordinate meetings and calls, often over several time zones
  • Arrange travel including flights, ground transportation, lodging, dining and other activities
  • Oversee the maintenance and refurbishment of all properties across multiple locations
  • Carry out research for the principals and family members
  • Manage ad-hoc projects as and when required by the family
  • Maintain philanthropic and other gift records
  • Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion with all matters relating to personal and office related matters
