  • Salary range: $45,000-$90,000, Sweet spot: $55,000-$70,000
  • Major cities: $60,000-$90,000, Other markets: $45,000-$65,000
  • Hourly: $22-$45/hour   Sweet Spot: $26-$34/hour
  • Bonus: Customary

An event manager is responsible for organizing and coordinating events such as conferences, conventions, trade shows, and special occasions. They are responsible for the planning and execution of events, which includes coordinating logistics, communicating with vendors and participants, and overseeing all aspects of the event to ensure that it runs smoothly. An ideal candidate has excellent organizational and communication skills, as well as the ability to multitask and work well under pressure. They are also responsible for staying within budget and ensuring the overall satisfaction of clients and attendees. They may also be responsible for seeking sponsorships and promoting the event. They often work with a team of event coordinators, vendors, and other professionals to plan, organize, and execute the event.

Job Description

  • Planning and organizing events, such as conferences, conventions, trade shows, and special occasions.
  • Coordinating logistics, such as booking venues, coordinating transportation, and arranging for audio-visual equipment.
  • Communicating with vendors, clients, and participants to ensure that all aspects of the event are handled properly.
  • Staying within budget and ensuring the overall satisfaction of clients and attendees.
  • Seeking sponsorships to increase revenue
  • Promoting the event to increase attendance
  • Assessing event success and providing feedback to stakeholders by using metrics and analytics to evaluate event effectiveness.
  • Collaborating with other departments and vendors as well as maintaining good relationships with stakeholders.
  • Managing a team of event coordinators and other event staff
  • Create, execute and oversee event plans, itineraries and on-site management
